Arts Incubator Program: Public Art And The Collective Conscience

The American Arts Incubator program is sponsoring a visual artist and muralist, David Burke to collaborate with local artists, community members, and create public art or small art projects for groups in Laos.

There will be a number of grants available, $500 each, given to small organizations who will work with David on an art project for their organization.

There will be an introductory talk and tuning in to the program on Monday 18 May at 6:00 pm at i:cat gallery.

This will be followed by a four day art and ideas workshop and to develop new art techniques suitable for creating public art or small projects. Groups will also be assisted to work with applying for the grant. This application will be an informal process.

The groups selected for the funding to create art will work closely with David over 3 weeks to produce their art.

Groups connected to visual art, dance, theatre, textiles, community development are welcome to join the 4 day workshop as well as apply for the grants. There will also be an opportunity to take part in mural painting.

Best Wishes,

Catherine O’Brien from i:cat gallery
