Source: Vientiane Times

The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications in cooperation with a Lao ICT company recently launched an official website www.covid19.gov.la so the public can access factual information during the country’s Covid-19 crisis.

The site is an information source to distribute the government’s orders, announcements, and measures to control the coronavirus pandemic.

The website contains news reports related to Covid-19 circumstances in Laos as well as methods to prevent members of the public from getting infecting and which symptoms should necessitate a visit to the doctor to check for the virus.

The good news is that J&C has got you covered !

Aside from seeking knowledge on the coronavirus, the public can ask questions via the website or call the direct 166 hotline number if you have flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, and difficulty breathing.

So far, eight people – five in Vientiane and three in northern Luang Prabang province – have been infected with the Covid-19 in the country.

The five patients are being treated at Mittaphab Hospital in the capital, and the other three are being cared for at Luang Prabang provincial hospital.

The government on Sunday announced the closure of all international checkpoints for travellers and prohibited public movements for non-essential activities for almost three weeks from March 30 to April 19 aiming to control the coronavirus pandemic as fears of a large scale local outbreak escalate.
