Sexist Vintage Ads Revived

Over the decades, advertisements often targeted women, depicting them in the kitchen, conversing with children, serving dinner, cleaning, and otherwise espousing the joy of a clean home or the latest kitchen appliance.

Since the 50′s, a lot has changed in way of women’s rights and their duties in and out of the house. I highly doubt any company could get away with phrases like “The Chef does everything but cook – that’s what wives are for!” nowadays.

Well, maybe I’m wrong, as today I found in my letter box an advertising leaflet with the following slogan: “To become the BEST WIFE & MOM in Laos” …. how to achieve this? You just need to buy the latest kitchen from iFurniture.

The vintage ads are sexist and not very appropriate (but still funny nonetheless), but how do you feel about the latest advertising campaign of iFurniture ?
