VILLA THE CUBE
One of Vientiane’s architectural masterpieces is now available for rent. Designed entirely by a landscape architect, The Cube is a home that pushes the limits of modernity unlike almost any other in Laos. Designed with practicality and leisure in mind, the architect has lent a unique use to every inch of space with all eventualities in mind whilst adhering to an almost scientific definition of beauty.
Its progressive design features a swimming pool as the central, focal point, with large glass window panes flooding the home with light day and night.
The entire property features five separate gardens, each visible from various points of the house; a blue garden to reflect of the pool as guests wake up, then yellow and red over breakfast, to black and white for dining and returning to deep blue for the evening. Night time sees the outdoors lit up with specially designed garden lighting, inviting you to live in a completely new world.
Key to the design of this house is transparency and the reflection of water. With floor-to-ceiling glass panels continually reflecting light, it is as if so you experience more than one sunrise and sunset per day. Reflections differ depending on your position in the house, meaning The Cube appears to be an endless space.
Taking just 12 months to construct, The Cube was a project of J&C Services Sole Co. Ltd and was designed by French architect Marc Rousseau. The property features four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a built-in office in master bedroom, large open-plan kitchen opening onto spacious living and dining area.
The use of space is completely maximised with numerous storage areas and even a separate, hidden kitchen. The house is secured with a state-of-the-art security system from Kerberos Security and features a European & Australian standard electrical plan.
