36 Tea Garden Wins Gold Award At World Tea Contest

The 36 Tea Garden in Pakxong district, Champassak province, has won first place in the category of Black Tea, winning a gold award at the World Tea Championship Competition.

The tea plantation is owned by Lao Tea Six Manor Trade Export Import Sole Co., Ltd. which won the award for its red tea, a long-established tea variety.

As the winner, the company was invited to attend the award presentation ceremony and the World Tea Industry Exhibition, which will take place soon in New York City, USA.

The Tea World Organising Committee said the 36 Tea Garden was actively participating in international exhibitions.

The committee learnt about the history of the tea plantation, the quality and standards employed in the tea production process, the local environment, and the packaging and materials used to pack tea, which was inspected and found to fully comply with the committee’s requirements.

Based on its findings, the committee decided to award the 36 Tea Garden an award for red tea at the World Tea Championship 2021.

The World Tea Industry Exhibition has been organised every year since 2003 and is one of 50 international exhibitions held in North America.

The event attracts hundreds of traders, entrepreneurs and 5,000 experts from 50 countries each year.

It is a widely recognised event among international tea exhibitors and sees the largest number of participating countries.

The World Tea Championship was organised by the World Tea Championship and Expo and the Desert Green Foundation, which is a member of the United Nations’ non-government organisation Economic and Social Council based in New York, USA.
