Benoni Cafe

As if by providence, shortly after our survey results showed Pimphone Market to have the best coffee in town, the owners of the market’s coffee shop extended the cafe from a small corner in the market to the full upstairs floor. The area that formally housed Chez Phillipe (who has now opened Bistro 22 opposite the Catholic church) is now the latest coffee shop in town –  ‘Benoni’ – which has become a new meeting point for expats and locals alike.

So what do you get? The same great coffee as always, of course! The whole range from Latte to Espresso and Americano.  If you want some dessert, try the range of cakes or the chocolate coated coffee beans (real chocolate lovers will prefer the dark ones).

Benoni Cafe

Benoni is not just about coffee, however. The cafe has actually quickly become a popular lunch place for business people. Those who already loved the tasty baguettes and sandwiches at Phimphone will now enjoy the nice air-conditioned setting upstairs which affords a great view of the street life below.

My favorites are the Mozarella-Tomato-Pesto Baguette and the Salmon Burger. Others may prefer the pasta, Phad Thai noodles or one of the specials.

  • I am in love with this place. Great view for people watching. Affordable prices. The cafe latte was excellent. The pesto baguette was very good. The spaghetti bolognese was by FAR the best pasta I have had in Vientiane (in fairness, there are lots of lovely places in Vientiane that supposedly have good pasta that I have not tried). I have nothing bad to say about this place.
