The 108 Jobs recruitment agency said last week that 60 percent of companies plan to hire more employees this year and next.

The encouraging figure was among the results of the agency’s Salary and Hiring Trend Survey 2022, carried out in collaboration with Wise Research from July to September, with 68 companies and nine industries responding to questions.

The survey aimed to gather information relating to employment, especially trends in salary payments and social welfare, and will be a guide for companies wanting to make decisions concerning employment conditions, as well as improving salaries and the provision of welfare benefits.

In answering the questions put by the survey, respondents indicated that their main need was for accountants, followed by sales staff.

Twenty-three of the 68 companies said they would hire people with disabilities, but only seven companies said they had special policies with regard to disabled employees.

A large number of employers said they were looking for team players, as well as people skilled in problem-solving and communication.

Most of the companies surveyed (78 percent) said they planned to adjust the salaries paid to their employees in 2023 and most would adjust the base salary by 6-10 percent.

Banking and financial institutions, along with credit providers, offer the most generous salaries compared to other sectors polled in the survey.
