European Food Festival – March 24

More than 30 restaurants and cafés will participate in European Food Festival 2018 presenting signature dishes of many European countries such as Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Russia and Spain in Vientiane on Mar 24.

The statement was made by the European Ambassador to the Lao PDR, Mr Leo Faber at a press conference in Vientiane on Mar 19.

“The European Union Delegation to Laos together with the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism and the European Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced the 7th European Food Festival which will be held at the National Culture Hall, Vientiane,” said Mr Leo Faber.

“The festival aims to promote the tourism campaign visit Laos Year 2018 of the Lao government, and the European Food Festival will help draw more visitors to Laos,” said Mr Leo Faber.

Moreover, the food and beverage sector in Laos is growing. The festival also to provide a support framework for Europe companies interested in their exporting to, or interesting in vesting in Laos. Through the festival, we want to support the local food and beverage industry and the overall trade relations between Europe and Laos.

The event will start from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm at the parking area of the National Culture Hall at the Samseanthai Road.

The performance will kick-off at 3:30pm, a lot of artists and performers will be queuing up to entertain festival goers until 11pm.

The EU Delegation, the European Chamber of Commerce, and the Ministry of Information and Culture will set up booths to entertain visitors and make them explore Europe.

Present at the press conference were Mr Ramon Bruesseler, Director of European Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Laos, Deputy Director of Department of Tourism Marketing of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Ms Sengsouda Vanouvong, Public Diplomacy and Policy Officer from the British Embassy in Vientiane, Nils Koenig, and relevant officials.
