If you’re thinking about getting on that workout grind, congratulations—from taking care of your mental health to getting better sleep to keeping your heart healthy, there are a ton of reasons to make working out a part of your life.
There are many gyms in the city and some hotels also make their gyms available to guests. Prices for one-day entry or membership (mostly 3, 6 months or a year) are very diverse. For the cheapest gyms the entry fee is 15 000 to 30 000 Kip. The most expensive gyms cost around 90 000 Kip, for most of them including the use of pool or sauna.
Some of the gyms provide group exercise lessons such as the Saffa Gym, which focuses on kickboxing and modern boxing, or the VS Fitness Studio, which is for women only, and offers various lessons to improve your fitness.
The gym is suitable for kickboxing, fitness and self-defence and has modern boxing and kickboxing equipment. The downside is its distance, it is about five kilometres from the city centre.
This gym has a selection of basic cardio machines and free weights. You will find treadmills and fitness machines. The gym does not have air conditioning, only fans. It is one of the cheapest fitness in the city.
One of the newer gyms which offers all comfort at very competitive prices. The gym is modern, very clean and with new equipment. The place is air-conditioning. Of course, there are lockers to keep your personal belongings. This gym is divided into two floors, the only drawback is that there is not much free space, with more people using the gym it easily gets crowded. The gym offers many equipment – weight equipment, cardio machines, kettlebells, dumbbells up to 40kg, squat racks.
Sengdara Fitness PRO
This fitness is comparable to Western standards. In addition to fitness, you will find a swimming pool and a steam sauna. There are also change rooms and locker rooms. The gym offers fitness classes. You will find many equipment – cardio machines, treadmills and fitness machines. This gym is more expensive than others in the city.

The gym is about 3 kilometres from the city centre. It is relatively large and offers cardio and weight machines – rowing machines, spinning bikes and weightlifting apparatus. You can also run on a treadmill and enjoy the view on the Mekong. There are available classes of Pilates and Zumba. The gym is clean and quiet. The price of membership is a bit higher than the other gyms.
Vientiane Fitness centre
The gym has very clean environment with lockers, showers, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. You can also enjoy a swimming pool after your fitness work. This large gym has modern equipment, but the dumbbells are only up to 30 kg.
The gym is very close to city centre and there is much space for parking. Of course, you can find restrooms and lockers here. The gym has very pleasant environment, nice views of the city and air conditioning. There are a lot of standard fitness machines, cardio equipment, but there are not squat rack and dumbbells over 20 kg. Drinks and towels are available. The price of one day membership is average.
This gym with air conditioning is in the city centre and has plenty of new equipment – squat rack, cardio machines, treadmills and fitness machines. The gym is very clean, and staff is friendly. There also are small sauna, restrooms and lockers. The advantage is that you can easily park there. The gym also offers snack service with fruit shakes.

This gym is a little outdated, but clean and it is not too crowded. There is a lack of weightlifting equipment, but plenty of cardio machines. The visitors get a free bottle of water. The problem is, that some machines do not work so well. The price is very cheap.
This gym is well-equipped fitness centre with good trainers. The gym is open air and does not have air conditioning. This place is good for strengthening – many plates, squat racks, dumbbells up to 50 Kg, kettlebells and big tire for flipping. Sometimes the gym is a little crowded. You can buy creatine, whey protein, lifting belts etc. here. There is also restaurant and parking space.

The gym is located on the 4th floor of Rashmi’s The Plaza Vientiane. This gym has broad range of quality equipment – weights and cardio machines. You can enjoy a beautiful view of the Mekong while exercising. The fitness offers membership for 3 months, 6 months and year (1 300 USD), including swimming pool.

This gym is only for women and offers especially 6 different fitness classes (Stretch and core, Cardio TKD, Cardio boxing, Beast and Beauty, Fit Vai Hiit, Tabata butt and abs.). This place is nice and clean with great atmosphere. The trainers are knowledgeable, attentive. The classes are pleasant and motivating. The price of the classes is a bit over average.
