Furniture Shops Suit Expat Taste
Tired of the heavy wooden “Chinese” furniture ? Want something new, more modern, stylish and comfortable ?
Expats in Vientiane are now offered a wide range of styles and tastes from traditional to contemporary. Furniture selections include bedroom furniture, living room furniture, dining furniture and occasional furniture.
The following three shops are my personal favorites:

Personally this is the top place which offers best design & best selection of material. There are 17 branches all over Thailand, the nearest in Udon Thani. As the showroom in Vientiane is limited in size (and they seem to have more Winner products, the low cost line), I recommend to visit their outlet in Udon. Place then your order at the Vientiane branch, as they offer almost the same price as in Thailand and they will deliver the furniture directly to your house and install them for free.

Lyfe
This furniture shop, run by young Lao-French entrepreneurs, offers fully customised furniture. You choose the style, material and color and they’ll have it made to order and shipped from Bangkok within 6 weeks. You also bring your own design or some photos of furniture and they’ll make it up for you. I purchased my sofa set and some tall arm chairs at Lyfe and I am still amazed about the high quality of their products. Lyfe have a small showroom on Lao-Thai Road with some example products on display. Their products are popping up all over Laos in shops, offices and apartment complexes.

Paphao Furniture
This wooden furniture shop specialises in custom orders and renovations. They do a great job, too. I ordered a kitchen table, round side tables, bedside tables and a big commode, all expertly crafted and perfectly finished according to my design. Paphao has a small shop on Thadeua Rd with some fine pieces on display.

K-Plaza (Livart, Neoce, Ritchen)
K-Plaza, the best electronic shop in Vientiane and part of the Kolao Group, have expanded their product range and are now also offering office, home and kitchen furniture. Their brands are Liveart, Neoce and Ritchen. Neoce is part of the Hyundai Group and the leading brand in office for creating 21st century work environments. Definitifely a great place to check out if you are looking for furniture. K-Plaza also offers a well functioning after-sale service.

K&B furniture
K&B has been the leading manufacturer of wooden furniture in Laos for many years, offering unmatched quality and unique. Nowadays, however, they are quite busy with international importers and rarely accept any customised orders, preferring to sell only what is available in their large showroom. This place is a must visit, however, because of the fantastic products on display.
