Makphet Restaurant Serves At New Location
Friends International announces the new location and trading hours of Award-Winning restaurant, Makphet in Vientiane, Laos. Now open 7 days a week !
Set in a French colonial building, Makphet is a family-friendly restaurant with a warm vibe. It features a spacious dining room and large garden for kids to play. The restaurant offers a mix of dining options; artisanal wood tables, cozy banquet seating, communal tables fashioned from reclaimed wood, and comfortable wooden chairs. An outdoor seating area in the lush garden is also available. Casual touches like chalkboards announce special items and daily specials. Private dining options will also be available.
‘Makphet’ (meaning chili in Lao) will really spice up your dining experience. This award-winning restaurant (Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Award 2013 & 2014, Miele Guide) is the culinary destination of choice in the Laotian capital, Vientiane. Makphet offers creative Lao cuisine, as well as great shakes and cocktails, all in beautiful surroundings. Specialties include the Frozen Hibiscus and Lime Daiquiri, the Luang Prabang style Buffalo and Vegetable Stew and other South East Asian inspired dishes free of MSG and using locally grown ingredients. You can also enjoy amazing appetizers, weekly specials and daily happy hour deals.
The restaurant also has a gift shop, Friends ‘N’Stuff, attached to it selling products made by families which will help keep their children in education.
Makphet is run by Peuan Mit, an organization founded by Friends-International in Vientiane in 2004, in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare to address the needs of marginalized young people in Laos.
