Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia, who traveled on the inaugural flight of FD 1040 from Bangkok-Vientiane, held a press conference to officially open the new route today (1 July). Mr. Tassapon said Thai AirAsia is very happy to be connecting Vientiane and Bangkok for the first time and has been warmly welcomed by the people of Lao PDR. He said the latest route will help stimulate both tourism and investment in Vientiane and build on the already strong relationship between Lao PDR and Thailand, offering more opportunities for the two neighbors to enhance ties.
