Three Dead In Khammuan Bus Crash

Three people were killed on Road No. 13 South in Khammuan province in the early hours of Wednesday morning after a pick-up truck smashed into a sleeper bus heading from Vientiane to Attapeu.

According to local press, the pick-up crashed into front right-hand side of the bus at about 12.40am on November 27 near Hinboun district’s Phonesavang, causing the bus to lose control and flip.

The bus contained 42 passengers; three Chinese nationals, three Vietnamese nationals and 36 Lao people. Two were killed on impact.

One person in the pick-up died at the scene while another was seriously injured. Most of the bus passengers also sustained injuries.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
