Thai AirAsia Stages Inaugural “Vientiane-Bangkok” Flight
AirAsia, “World’s Best Low Cost Airline” 7 years running as ranked by Skytrax, began daily direct flights from Vientiane to Bangkok (Don Mueang Airport) of Thailand today (1 July) with an official press launch and a special promotional fare starting at only 35 USD per trip. Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia, who traveled on the inaugural flight of FD 1040 from Bangkok-Vientiane, held a press conference to officially open the new route today (1 July). Mr. Tassapon said Thai AirAsia is very happy to be connecting Vientiane and Bangkok for the first time and has been warmly welcomed by the people of Lao PDR. He said the latest route will help stimulate both tourism and investment in Vientiane and build on the already strong relationship between Lao PDR and Thailand, offering more opportunities for the two neighbors to enhance ties.

All of the routes not only allow for more convenient travel between Lao PDR and Thailand, but also help to bridge the nations of ASEAN.
