Lao Brewery Co. Ltd has granted 3.4 billion kip combined to renovation projects for Chao Fa Ngum Park, Chi Nai Mo Park and the 450 Park on Kaysone Phomvihane Road in Vientiane.

The grants to renovate the three parks have been part of the company’s efforts to promote urban environmental protection from 2007-2020, officials in the capital reported.

The information was revealed in a report presented on Saturday at a cleaning activity for Chi Nai Mo Park, attended by the head of the Vientiane City Office for Management and Service (VCOMS), Mr Bounchanh Keosithamma.

Speaking at the activity, Mr Bounchanh Keosithamma said that Lao Brewery Co. Ltd had provided 3.4 billion kip for electrical systems, fountain basins, painting, garbage bins, growing trees and other refurbishments for the three Vientiane parks.

“The budget for the maintenance of parks in our city is limited, and there are many more parks that still need money for renovations. Therefore, I would like to invite all parties to participate in sponsoring the maintenance of the parks to help keep the urban environment clean,” he said.

VCOMS has also promoted waste collection in the capital in recent years. Currently, there are 129 waste collection vehicles, including 59 waste compactor trucks, 52 dump trucks, 16 containers, and two trucks for healthcare waste.
